A quick update on my recent post about Electra, the lonely, unused, and unloved public EV Charge Point who lives on the outskirts of Lamlash on the Isle of Arran.
If you read my recent article that dived deeper into why Electra ended up located where she is, and the wider learnings from the charge point sector, you'll know that just because a local authority can fairly easily and at relative low cost install a chargepoint in a a rural location, it doesn't mean that they should.
I'm back on Arran for a couple of days so I thought that I'd go and say hi to Electra while out on a pre-dinner walk last night. It was an opportunity to not only look at how the charge points were installed but of course enjoy the amazing weather. Here's a short video of what I discovered.
